Vermont Day Dreams
West Glover, VT 05875
In the ninth grade, needing a project for home economics class, my mother suggested that I learn to weave. A friend kept a loom on her front porch and patiently led me through the process. I aced the project. After college, I took a weaving class and was reinspired. In 1973, I moved to Stowe. One spring morning I drove my pickup to Plattsburg and came home with a 45 inch LeClerc Colonial loom. The rest is history. Over the years, my vocation and avocation have both blended and strayed from one another. Teaching Spanish sometimes took precedence over my weaving, yet travels to Spanish speaking countries fed my passion for textiles. In 2007, we built my new weaving studio, gallery, gift shop, and Spanish classroom.
My lifelong dream became reality in a beautiful building overlooking Lake Parker. My inspiration comes from the colors, textures and landscapes around me, the full moon setting over the lake, abstracts of the woods and hillsides. As a sailor, I love the reflections of light on water. I weave pillows, blankets, rag rugs, bags, wearables and offer classes in fiberarts, Spanish, and ESL. My studio/guesthouse hosts small conferences and retreats as well.
